This lavishly-styled piece of work is not only Skechers best-selling shoe, but one of the best walking shoes for 2018. No matter if you’re going on a walk to the park, or heading to work, your feet will feel like they’re on vacation.
Skechers used to be known in the 90’s as just a trend-setting shoe brand, but in recent years, they’ve really made a name for themselves in creating luxury walking shoes.
If the cushy mesh look doesn’t catch your attention, the fact that their soles are essentially made of yoga mats, will. The Go Walk 3’s have consistently maintained a 4.5 star rating on Amazon, and it’s easy to see why.

The padding ensures your feet stay in place, preventing any rubbing or blisters as you go about your day. If you’re subject to aches and pains, the padding will provide relief.
The stretchy knit upper and the pull-on heel loops making putting them on a cinch when you’re running late. As if the GOga Mat wasn’t enough, Skechers has also added an Ortholite footbed and an antimicrobial sockliner, to make sure your feet not only feel heavenly, but smell like it, too.
The cherry on top, is the flexible outsole, with GOimpulse sensors, which offer sensory feedback for a responsive walking experience. If you’re looking for shoes for flat feet women, or just a woman who wants an all-around excellent shoe, get yourself into some Go Walk 3’s.

The ASICS GEL-Quick WK2, is a shoe that not only provides comfort and durability, but is also easy on the eyes. ASICS is a company known delivering high-performance and technical athletic footwear, and this shoe is an excellent example of that.
Aside from its style, you’ll notice the breathable mesh upper with a padded tongue and collar. This means, when you lace up tight for a day on the job, or on the trails, that your shoes aren’t going to rub you the wrong way. The simple design makes them easy to pair with any workout clothes, or even work clothes, depending.
The GEL-Quick WK2’s even make standing on concrete for hours at a time, much less of a pain. Needless to say, it makes sense why these shoes consistently make “top 10 walking shoes” lists.
If you’re looking for shoes to relieve foot pain or just simply looking for more comfort, the “GEL” part of the name will probably stick out to you.
The signature GEL protects the rear part of the foot on the heel strike, while the cushioned footbed and compression-molded EVA midsole assists with the mid and forefoot. Walkers have a heavier heel strike, so the GEL really serves well.
When you pull the pair out of the box and on your feet, you’ll notice right away that there is no break-in period. They’re comfortable immediately, fit snugly, but not too tightly, if you select the appropriate size. For those consumers who suffer from maladies such as bunions or plantar fasciitis, the GEL-Quick WK2’s are an excellent choice.

What We Liked
- Comfortable GEL to protect heel, along with cushioned footbed

New Balance WW577 – Best Shoe for All-Around Athletic Use
New Balance is a company that consistently produces high-quality athletic shoes, and the WW577’s are no different. New Balance does market to an image but rather commits to fit, which is exactly what this design offers.
The WW577’s are consistently some of the highest rated walking shoes out there.
Coming in only one color: white, they’re easy to pair with just about any workout outfit. You could even wear them to work, permitting you’re allowed to wear athletic shoes on-the-job. The shoes are specifically designed for walking, but work just as well for any situation which requires long-term comfortability.
The soft leather upper is not only durable but also breathable, which not many leather-made shoes offer. With a cushioned footbed, along with a high-performance outsole, these shoes will last you well, while racking up the miles.

The WW577’s are known for their comfort, durability, and spaciousness. They may not be the most fashionable shoes on the market today, but for what they offer in every other aspect, they’re more than worth it.
The high-quality materials, made in the United States, are a great addition to the shoe. Additional width in the toe box offers those with bunions a great, comfortable option.
In contrast to the wide toe box, the heel is rather narrow, providing stability. Speaking of stability, they not only perform well on flat surfaces, but also on gravel and uneven ground.
Those who use orthotics are also in luck because they fit seamlessly in the WW577’s. The only real complaints any consumers have made is that they don’t give enough arch support to those with flat feet and that they sometimes run a bit small.
However, the cushioned insole and heel make these a great option for those having trouble with pronation, saving knees and ankles from unnecessary pain and discomfort.
At a somewhat low price of roughly $50-$60, they’re great on a budget, even with them being made from leather.
What We Liked

New Balance W1540V2 – Most Fashionable Walking Shoes
Many younger consumers are disappointed when they discover they need a shoe to assist them with their gait, and can’t find any that they find aesthetically pleasing to them. However, New Balance has created the W1540V2 to solve that issue.
Originally marketed as a running shoe, many have begun to praise the shoe for being so great for walking. From first glance, you can see that the shoe offers much stability with the stitched-on overlays.
This shoe has been a life-saver for many of those women who over or under-pronate, with the inclusion of the rollbar on both lateral and medial sides. For those that require arch support as well, in huge part because of the rollbar and the midsole.
The W1540V2 may look good, but it also feels great.
For many people who overpronate or oversupinate (such as those with knee problems or may have issues with their weight), these shoes have made walking simpler for them. Many of New Balance’s shoes have the “rollbar”, which is a light, flat piece of material inside the sole, to prevent heel movement.
However, this model has upgraded the rollbar, to be slightly more flat, wide, and offer more motion. The soles are made from a combination of durable and blown rubber, offering great flexibility. The primarily-mesh upper ensures that there is proper breathability, as well as making the shoe lighter on the feet.
Another great aspect is that they may be eligible for Medicare reimbursement (Medicare/HCPCS code A5500), which is almost unheard of. As the shoes will set you back roughly $150, this makes the shoe more available to a person of any income level.
What We Liked
- Breathable mesh upper
- Rollbar technology, increasing stabilit
- yAttractive appearance
- Eligible for Medicare reimbursement
What We Didn’t Like
- Doesn’t offer much cushion
- The price is among the highest we’ve seen
Best Walking Shoes For Women – Overview
Despite each woman having different needs in terms of footwear, there is one that we can say, stood out from the rest. Our best walking shoe for 2018, is the Go Walk 3, from Skechers.
If you look for the best women’s walking shoes, it’s almost a given that this shoe will be on the list, if not at the top of it.
Not only is the stretchy mesh top stylish, it provides breathability that many of the other shoes on the list do not. They’re also made with technology that we were hard-pressed to find, with any other walking shoe.
The GOga Mat Technology isn’t just a cool-sounding name but has real functionality. The GOimpulse sensors provide sensory feedback with each step. The anti-microbial sockliner shows just how much Skechers understands their consumers, and actually cares about every aspect.
With 13 attractive colors to select from, the Go Walk 3 can suit just about any outfit you put on. It’s versatile, attractive, and does what it says it does. For the low price of, on average, $59.99, it just can’t be beaten.
A close second was the KEEN Presidio shoes. In the end, we had to choose the Go Walk 3 over the Presidio, for a few reasons.
Number one, because of the pricing. Depending on the size and color, the Presidio comes in at almost twice the price of the Go Walk 3. While made of nubuck, waterproof leather, the price is understandable, but the average consumer can get a walking shoe with just as much support, for much less.
We found that most women looking for walking shoes did not need the waterproof aspect, which essentially made the waterproof aspect, obsolete.
The second was the style. While the Presidio is still attractive, many consumers are looking for a more classically-athletic look; almost to wear they look like sleek running shoes. The Go Walk 3 fits this requirement perfectly.
Given how overwhelming the athletic footwear market is, it can seem impossible finding the right walking shoe. However, that is the exact reason why lists like this are so important. We hunted high-and-low in search of the best walking shoes out there, depending on your needs and desires.
It turns out, that there is something for everyone. From adventurers who require waterproof material to those who need extra arch support, our list has you covered.
We kept in mind variations, such as those with bunions, flat feet, or high arches; and you can’t forget style! However, with all of this in mind, we cannot ensure that there is any “perfect” shoe for anyone.
Shoes and feet vary from person-to-person, with age, and even from left to right! This list will help you in your selection, regardless. That is the reason why we listed such a variety of options; to cover everyone’s needs.
