It may sound too good to be true, but it is. The shade is a “true red” or universal red, meaning that it’s neither too cool nor too warm, making it attractive on just about every skin tone out there. The shade was hand-picked by Rihanna, and tested exhaustively on hundreds of people out there.

So, how does it feel?
Very lightweight and creamy, with a smooth, soft texture. It actually feels nice going on; not sticky nor dry like so many other lip paints do. It’s comfortable to wear, applies evenly and easily, and blends just as easily. We also loved that it didn’t sink into and cake into all of the little lines and indents in our lips, giving an even, soft matte finish.
The applicator is a unique little hoof, which is very soft, applies the product well (no huge drips), and is great in terms of precision. It easily moves around all the curves and lines of your lips.
How long does it last?
We didn’t get a full 12 hours of perfect application, we did get over 10. After that, it did start to fade and feather out on the edges, but 10 hours is still pretty impressive.
The color did look amazing, no matter the skin tone. We can see it easily becoming a regular with our makeup looks, and works well for a work day, just as well as a nice dinner, or a night out in the clubs.

While this lipstick does come in various finishes, we’re going with matte today, because it’s on-trend, it’s gorgeous, and if you have the shine you’re battling with, this kind of takes away from it.

The consistency is thin, slick, smooth, and creamy. It doesn’t get hung up or feel tacky at all. Application is very easy and quick and almost feels like melted butter, given how easily it glides onto lips. Even if you have dry lips, you’ll love how smooth and creamy this best lipstick shade lasts and covers up any cracks or dry patches.
What really impressed us was the pigmentation.
When you look at other lipsticks in this price range, it’s practically impossible to find one that has as good of color payoff as this one does.
So, just how long does it last?
While it wasn’t the shortest-lasting, it wasn’t the longest, either. In our experience, it stayed put and was looking great for a good five hours before we started to see some feathering and fading out. However, as it did fade, it still looked good. It left a slightly lighter “stained” effect, which still looked put-together.
So, what didn’t we like?
Really, just the taste. While we weren’t purposefully trying to taste it, we did notice that it tasted bitter for the first hour or so.

Okay, so they didn’t actually start the love of lip color, but we feel like they did have a huge influence on the current obsession with matte lips. They made beautiful, unique lips popular through their gentle formula with excellent color payoff, and what’s more?
It’s super affordable.
This thin, lightweight formula is easy to wear and glides on smoothly onto the lips. It’s comfortable, and honestly, you’ll probably forget you even have it on after a couple hours.
The look is one of the most intense pigmentations we’ve come across, and despite all that, it doesn’t transfer or come off at all. If you need one of the best long-lasting matte lipsticks or just don’t have time to keep touching it up throughout the day, then you cannot pass this one up.
This best matte liquid lipstick comes in an array of different shades, and you’re sure to find one that suits exactly what you’re looking for!
Our Experience
With a whopping 33 shades available, it was difficult for us to pick just one to try out, but we figured it would be better to try out multiple anyway and can confirm they’re all gorgeous. With just one swipe, we experienced intense, highly-pigmented, opaque shots of color.
Keep in mind, that this one is a liquid lipstick.
Some love them and some don’t, but that’s neither here nor there. We found it super easy to apply, and easy to “stay within the lines”, so to speak.
This is undoubtedly the driest lipstick we’ve ever tried.
With that being said, if you already have dry lips, or generally prefer more “moisturizing” lipsticks, then you’re honestly probably not going to like these. However, on the upside, they provide very matte looks. They’re super weightless and give an almost powdery look/feel.
In addition, if you really want to try them but are scared they’ll be too drying, you can always add in their Lippie Primer underneath, or a simple gloss afterward.
Due to the fact that they are so thin and lightweight, they also dry super fast, so you must apply it quickly. Try to get an even application in one shot, rather than layering.
If you really want to keep the budget down and want a liquid lipstick, this is the best one, in our opinion. It’s surprisingly affordable, considering how impressive the formula and results are. In addition, the packaging is very solid and feels almost high-end. It doesn’t feel cheap or like it’s going to break. The doe-foot applicator, however, is a bit stiff. It’s not a deal-breaker, but a detail to keep in mind.
On top of everything?
Their products are vegan, and cruelty-free. This makes the products open to a much wider audience. Plus, who doesn’t love products who keep morals in mind?

If you have dry lips, or just love having soft lips in general (and who doesn’t?), then you’ll love their 100% natural moisturizing formula, which features Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, and Kendi Oil. These ingredients also help to give it a creamy, soft texture that glides on easily, finishing with a matte look.
Despite it being 100% natural, the formula is very long-lasting. It is lightweight but holds strong for hours so you don’t have to keep reapplying for it to look good. It also has no added flavor or fragrance, which is great if you have a sensitive nose.

The formula provides full coverage, and while the colors aren’t the most highly-pigmented, they do add color in a more natural way that looks great at any occasion. It feels great on the skin, with the moisturizing formula, and actually works to hydrate all day long.
The part that we weren’t fans of?
The fact that they only have 6 shades to choose from (Bordeaux Vines, Napa Vineyard, Carolina Coast, Hawaiian Smolder, Niagara Overlook, and Outback Oasis), which are all varying shades of pinks, nudes, reds, and plums.

The finish Is semi-matte, so keep that in mind, but also keep in mind that it’s not going to be anywhere near as drying as some of the full-matte lipsticks in comparison.
However, it’s very long-lasting, and if you don’t have the time or patience to keep on touching up your look all day, then you’re going to love this one!

Our Experience

It glides onto lips beautifully, doesn’t stick on any dry spots, and actually goes on like a lipstick with high levels of pigmentation. The finish?
A gorgeous semi-matte that is very luminous with a velvety look. It looks and feels extremely high-quality, and the shades are very true-to-color for at least three hours. We would like that number to be higher, but there it is.
Overall, our favorite aspects of the product are how comfortable they are, how well they go on, and the pure high level of pigmentation that you receive in just one sweep alone. It’s definitely not the longest-lasting, but if you’re looking for something quick and effective, this is it.

Next, try to choose one that actually looks good on the lips. It doesn’t crack or dry and looks uneven. It has good coverage and high pigmentation and actually lasts a long time. We’d consider a long time as being more than 6 hours, however, there are some that only last a few that we still feel are worth purchasing if you can afford to touch up throughout the day.
Finally, get something within your price range. You don’t want to splurge on something, only to have buyer’s remorse later because you’d spent so much on that one product. Also keep in mind how long the product is going to last you, because some of the more expensive ones are actually worth it in this sense.
