Sam Edelman Tinsley – Best City Product
Have you checked out some of the Sam Edelman rainboots Amazon has to offer? If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and go straight to the Tinsley.Right away, you’ll notice how stylish and trendy these boots are. They are sleek, and look wonderful when paired with just about everything, but particularly with a pair of skinny jeans!
The Chelsea rain boot features deep, elastic goring on the sides, which not only looks attractive but serves to make the footwear a bit stretchier. The boot itself is made of rubber, including a rubber sole to keep moisture out and give a good amount of traction on slippery surfaces.
The shaft measures around 6 inches from the arch and the heel is about an inch tall. The boot features an easy pull-on loop at the back of each boot, for quick on-and-off. The interior features textile lining to keep your feet nice and warm, and a padded footbed to give your feet some relief from the hard ground.
They’re nice and flexible which means no blisters, but they could really use a bit of extra padding or arch support because if you walk to work or something, you’ll probably notice them start to get uncomfortable.
Otherwise, we were pretty happy with these!
They come in: black matte, black polished, moss green matte, moss green polished, sangria matte, sangria polished, space blue matte, and space blue polished.
These boots can be worn every day; not just on rainy days! They’re also great if you’re looking for a good pair on a budget.
What We Liked
- Very trendy and fashionable; can go with anything
- Comes in variety of colors/finishes
- Great budget product
- Textile lining and padded footbed
What We Didn’t Like
- Needs extra padding or arch support
Sperry Topsider Saltwater Rope – Most Fashionable Product
The Sperry TopSider Saltwater are some of the best rain boots out there today, for many reasons. One is that they’re just so darn attractive. They’re ultra-trendy right now, and come in a wide variety of color combinations to suit you or anyone else’s preferences!
The boots fit exactly to size, so keep this in mind. Many reviews out there stated they run small, but we found that they’re pretty spot-on accurate. When buying online, this is very valuable to know, if you don’t want to have to go through the trouble of returning and waiting even longer.
It’s also important to keep in mind that these don’t necessarily winter boots (if where you live receives heavy snowfall). Now, they are insulated with a nice microfleece, which will make them nice and toasty for your feet, but if it’s under 30 degrees Fahrenheit, you’re going to need something more severe.
They’re definitely waterproof, which is essential to any rainboot, right? This makes them excellent, splashing through puddles, or waiting by the dock.
How are they weight-wise?
They’re a bit heavier than we thought they’d be, however, they’re not overwhelmingly heavy or so heavy that they bothered us. Despite being so heavy, they don’t have a solid grip on slippery surfaces, which is something we didn’t particularly like. However, on dry surfaces, there’s plenty of traction.
The shoes come in: Sand/Ivory, Burgundy/Tan, Black/Grey Plaid, Petrol/Tan, Black Quilted Suede, Black/White Tribal, Brown Camo, Tan/Navy, Brown, Black, Beige/Black, White/Black, Cognac/Red, Tan/Green, Green, Tan/Navy, and Tan/Dark Brown.
What We Liked
- Waterproof, durable rubber
- Insulated with warm micro fleece
- Come in a variety of color combinations
What We Didn’t Like
- Not ideal for winter conditions
- Not excellent traction on slippery surfaces
Hunter Original Tall – Product with Best Craftsmanship
Some of the best rainboots of 2022 and just about every year, are the Hunter Tall Original boots. They’re sure to please with their high-quality craftsmanship and polished appearance. The classic, simple shape and expandable shaft provide a tailored fit that’s hard to come by on this market! The boot comes in a whopping 19 colors, first of all, so there’s something to fit every outfit or occasion. They come in: Navy Blue, Pink, Bright Pink, Azure, White, Bright Coral, Violet, Red, Ocean Blue, Dark Slate, Military Red, Yellow, Silver, Pale Blue, Orange, Dark Olive, Hunter Green, a different Navy, and Black.
The boots are all made of rubber, complete with a rubber sole. The shaft measures around 16 inches from the arch and the platform is about half an inch. The boot opening is also 15 inches around, so it’s a good size to fit more people.
Each pair is handcrafted from 28 individual parts, which may seem unnecessary to some, but once you receive the boots in the mail, you’ll really appreciate the level of handiwork that went into making these.
They are fully waterproof and make you feel like you can take on anything in any weather with them. They’re textile-lined to provide a high level of comfort. We would’ve preferred something a bit warmer like a fleece lining, but that’s okay.
The original calendared outsole provides a high level of traction across different kinds of terrain, which should be necessary for any of the best rainboots for walking. We also really loved the adjustable strap which works to enhance leg fit and keep out raindrops!
What We Liked
- Made of natural, vulcanized rubber
- Calendared outsole provides good amount of traction
- Comes in wide variety of color options
- Adjustable strap enhances leg fit and protects against water
What We Didn’t Like
- Not the warmest
L. L. Bean Insulated Wellie Tall – Editor’s Pick
If you like adorable, yet warm clothing, then you’re probably well aware of what L.L Bean’s products are and what they stand for. They’re consistently high-quality products that maintain an equally high level of fashion and trendiness.Their Insulated Wellie Rain Boots are no exception.
These legendary boots are just like the classics but are now insulated to keep your precious feet extra comfy. They’re lined with cozy fleece, and also include 100-gram Primaloft insulation for an extra level of warmth on especially cold, wet days.
Made of vulcanized, waterproof rubber, all water and mud will be deflected away from your feet like some kind of weather-resistant superhero. The stretch elastic gore panel and rubber pull-on loop handle also make them easy to take off and put on, for those moments when you want to spontaneously go out and dance in the rain.
The footbed is one of the most comfortable we’ve seen, and the LL Bean Wellie features a footbed made from spongey rubber, and EVA foam, covered with woven polyester.
Combine that with the supportive EVA midsole, and you’ve got yourself some great rain boots for walking! The adjustable rubber instep strap with a metal buckle just enhances comfort and support, while looking fashionable!
The only thing we didn’t like, is the fact that they are quite expensive. However, we also know that these are some of the best rain boots for women money can buy.
What We Liked
- Made of high-quality, waterproof vulcanized rubber
- Easy to take on and off
- Supportive EVA midsole and spongey footbed make for a comfortable shoe
- Adjustable rubber instep strap improves comfort and stability
- Comes in various colors and patterns
What We Didn’t Like
- Not the most affordable boot
Kamik Jennifer – Best Product for Wide Feet
If you take a look at Kamik women’s rain boot reviews, you’ll most likely see the Jennifer at the top of the list. We’ll be honest – the Kamik Jennifer isn’t anything extraordinary, but it is consistently reliable in the rain, and it is quite fashionable, as well.
These boots are also true-to-size, so keep this in mind when purchasing. If you get the right size, you’ll find them to be comfortable. For rubber boots, they’re actually surprisingly light, which we really liked, because no one wants to wear heavy boots sloshing around in puddles and whatnot!
Adding on to the rubber subject, the rubber is soft and flexible, which is more than we could say for the majority of boots out there! You can bend them at the toe and ankle, so if you plan on walking around in these for a long distance, or are working in them, you’re going to feel comfortable.
If you have wider feet, you’ll find that these fit great, as well. The problem we encountered with many of the women’s rain boots out there, is that they simply didn’t accommodate wide feet. These ones do, but if you have thinner feet, you’ll be fine, as well.
These PVC-free rubber boots are also waterproof, which is essential in any rainboot. You can feel comfortable running around in the rain and mud without them leaking! The tread on these are also deep enough to keep a solid grip and prevent slipping on wet surfaces, so do all the running you’d like!
The only thing we weren’t really impressed with was how difficult these Kamik women’s rain boots were to get off and on. Putting them on is definitely easier than taking them off, but still, it takes a bit of work. However, the reason why they’re so difficult is because of the fitted silhouette.
This makes them look even more flattering and makes sure there aren’t big gaps between the legs and boots. If you have larger calves, this may be an issue, but most users will find these to work well. The adjustable buckle at the calf enhances the fit, as well to give a more fitted look.
The boot is super attractive, with the wingtip foot and logoed shield at the shaft. They also come in 15 fashionable colors: Dark Brown, Olive, Green, Burgundy, Turquoise, Simply Green, Viola, Periwinkle, Light Grey, Ink, Dark Red, Charcoal/Ink Blue, Charcoal, Blue, and Black.
What We Liked
- Comes in an array of fashionable color schemes
- Fitted, tighter look
- Waterproof
- Provides a deep, solid grip on slippery surfaces
What We Didn’t Like
- Not the easiest to put on and take off
- Not ideal for those with larger calves
How To Pick The Right Rain Boots
If you’ve ever had to endure the misery of spending the day or night with soggy, cold feet, then you’ll know how important it is to select the best rain boots!
However, doing that is at times much easier than it sounds. You buy a cute pair and see they’re marketed as waterproof, only to feel that all-too-familiar leak in your shoe! That’s why it’s so vital to read first-hand reviews of actual consumers.
That’s why we’re here! We’ve done the research and assembled this guide to help make sure you’re on the path to success!
Length
As you may have noticed, the most comfortable rain boots of 2022 come in various lengths. The classic rain boots most of us know or have in mind are the ones that go most of the length of your shins, almost all the way to the knees. These have a variety of benefits, including the fact that it’s just harder for rain and moisture to get into boots that are taller.
They also make some of the best rubber boots for farm work, as it’s more difficult for hay to get into taller boots. However, keep in mind if you’re shorter, that these boots may cut into the backs of your knees as you walk.
To make sure they’re the right length for you, go ahead and look at the shaft length, then measure that against your own leg.
Shorter boots are also effective if you select the right ones. They’re often tighter around the leg, so they do a pretty good job of keeping water out.
Fit
Finding rain boots with the right fit is often difficult for newer users, as rain boots typically aren’t meant to fit the same as your regular boots. Rain boots for women are generally worn with thick, warm socks, so they’re going to be roomier/wider. If you’re a half size and the model you’re looking at only has whole ones (most only carry whole sizes) we recommend rounding down.
Traction
Since rain boots are usually used in wet conditions, traction is also very important. While one would think that every pair of rain boots should have a good amount of traction, unfortunately, this isn’t the case.
With that being said, it’s important to take a look at how the tread is on the boots you have your eye on. However, if you’re literally just going to wear them for aesthetic purposes, ignore this entire section!
Inner Soles
Something that we’ve noticed with most rain boots for women, is that they have thin inner soles. Of course, there are some exceptions, which we’ve placed on our list, but most out there aren’t the best.
Why?
Well, cold transfers from the ground to our feet. When the inner soles aren’t properly cushioned or lined, you’re going to feel some of that cold! If you’re going to be walking long distances, you’ll also need to make sure the soles are properly cushioned or lined with something thick, like a fleece.
Some of the best rain boots for women feature EVA insoles or cushy foam so avoid this, so be on the lookout!
Color
Rain boots themselves are honestly as attractive as they are just because of the color or the pattern that they feature. With most of the rain boots, you’re going to find an array of beautiful colors and patterns for you to choose from.
These range from solid muted tones like forest green or navy blue, to bright patterns with florals, paisley, and much more to choose from.
Adjustability
When most people think of rain boots, they don’t think about adjustability. This is because most simply aren’t adjustable! However, since not everyone has the same size calves, this is an important feature to have available.
Some boots may fit one person comfortably, and those same boots could gape around the calves of another. If you have slimmer calves, make sure to look for boots with adjustable straps (unless you like the gaps).
Price
Price varies greatly from one brand and model to the next. You may see some that look identical, yet has $100 difference in pricing.
However, with rain boots, it’s really important to read reviews and not just base buying decisions on price.
Why? Because in terms of durability and construction, they’re going to vary greatly. A cheaper pair may last a year or so, but a more expensive pair with better construction could last for many years to come!
Of course, we also would like to mention that price isn’t always equal to quality. Again, read the reviews, like we have here on our site, where you can get an unbiased opinion of products out there.
Conclusion
We really enjoyed each one of these rain boots for women, however, we did have one model that really stuck out to us. That model is the L.L. Bean Tall Wellie.
L.L. Bean is a brand that simply always produces quality, and that’s evident here with these rain boots. They’re tall enough to protect against any kind of outside moisture, and they’re also lined with cozy fleece, which will keep your feets warm on those cold and wet days.
They’re also the only ones that featured a great level of comfort in the footbed and are wonderful for walking long distances or working. They also come in an assortment of colors and patterns, and have an adjustable strap to fit just about any user!
So, which of these best rain boots for women are coming home with you today?
